2009 Alabama Kids Count Data Book

VOICES is pleased to offer online access to the Alabama Kids Count Data Book, in pdf version in whole and in part.

The overall theme that emerges from the 2009 Alabama Kids Count Data Book is the notion of holding our own. The state is holding its own in most measures of child well-being, as are most counties. Though we would rather see significant improvement in these measures, we find great satisfaction in the ability of our state to maintain progress from recent years.

This year’s Data Book, as well as past publications, demonstrates that we must get serious about tackling the issues which impact children. The measures documented in Kids Count will not only impact Alabama’s children, but ultimately the economic vitality of our communities and our citizenry as a whole.
